COLOUR MENTORING AND LECTURING

Jules Standish Colour Analysis & Colour Psychology

I have been mentoring, lecturing and training in Colour Analysis for many years, and it’s my passion and pleasure to share this with you. As colour becomes more popular on a global scale, not just in the world of fashion but accessories and interiors too, gaining knowledge on this transformational subject is an invaluable tool for stylists, creatives, educators and retailers.

Colour Mentoring

With 20 years’ experience in the Colour business, one of my favourite things is to share my knowledge with others by mentoring trained consultants (from any colour system).

I have much wisdom to impart, which includes help with the following:

Setting up and running a colour business

Presenting colour:

  • Workshops
  • Talks
  • Parties
  • Events for Corporate companies, Brands and Retailers

Performing the current trend of “Speed Draping” well

Getting some tips on how to put colour psychology into your work

Setting up a colour studio

Advising on what tools and training to take

Writing a book and get yourself noticed

A mentoring session is 2 hours online.  Price on application.

Colour Lecturing

The London College of Style

As “Head of Colour” at the prestigious London College of Style for ten years, I have lectured on the Colour Analysis process, the theory and psychology to fashion students on campus and helped to create the LCS global online holistic colour diploma as well as teaching on the course.  I also headed up a team of talented Colour Tutors.  We put personality as well as genetics at the centre of all our colour work at the school, championing individuality and well-being.

Smart Works Charity

I spent a wonderful evening lecturing and colour training the fashion stylists at this incredible charity, which helps unemployed women to dress well for job interviews (along with coaching). I showed them all how to identify a seasonal type, by using certain shades of colours up against the face, whilst recognizing their personalities and what colours psychologically might be appropriate for interviews in differing professions.

Eye Wear Specialists

Twice I have joined Dan Scott aka “The Eyewear Stylist” (optician of the year 2025) teaching eye wear specialists nationwide the fundamentals of Colour Analysis.  This is hugely beneficial in helping their clients select the best shades of glasses frames that suit their genetic colouring and their personality, be it colours or metallics.  It can save them a fortune by buying only shades and styles that really work for their face shape and natural colouring and ensure they all look fabulous in their glasses in or out of the sun!

Schools and Colleges

At Ardingly College, I presented “How NOT to Wear Black” a Colour Analysis session, to teachers and parents and one “man in black” Father David who proudly showed everyone his “orange” socks! During Ardingly “Artsfest” in 2014 I ran student workshops providing invaluable tips on how to present themselves for an interview.

At Cranleigh School I ran a “Hire or Fire” workshop for their sixth form. The students were given green (for hire) and red (to fire) cards to hold up when individuals presented themselves in colours and styles for their chosen professions. The aim was to try and help them focus on their image when going out into the job market for the first time, understanding the powerful benefits of dressing well for their profession.

At the Management Matters Heads of Pre-Prep Conference, I spoke to over 200 teachers about “Managing Their Personal Presentation”. Delegates found it both useful and enjoyable “an excellent combination!”

At Westbourne House School in Sussex, I ran a successful Colour Analysis and body-shape workshop for teachers and staff, a great incentive to encourage team building and interaction.
